長野縣上松町で木曽森林鐵道の復元運轉を實施している赤澤森林鐵道。北陸重機工業製のディーゼル機關車がオープン客車を牽引し、赤澤から丸山渡までの 762mmゲージの路線・1.1キロをのんびり往復。清冽な溪流に沿って檜の香り漂う山中をゆく走行シーン、樂しい車内、驛での車兩の入換のほか、運休日に行われるメンテナンスの樣子など。森林鐵道記念館に保存されているボールドウィン製の1號ＳＬや、C4型ディーゼル機なども紹介。

Akasawa Forest Railway [Railway Preservation Biography #01]


Akasawa Forest Railway is located in Agematsu Town of Nagano prefecture. Originally called Kiso Forest Railway, this rail was restored to its original state and preserved with its track width at a mere 762mm apart.
Departing from Akasawa Station, a diesel locomotive leisurely pulls passenger cars along rivers and through mountain paths before reaching its final destination of Maruyamado Station.
On days when it is not in use, maintenance is conducted on the locomotive.
