As one of Ritsumeikan’s educational institution, Ritsumeikan Uji High School was established in 1995 followed by a junior high school in 2003. In 1869, Ritsumeikan was founded in Kyoto by Prince Saionji Kinmochi, Prime Minister on two occasions.

In 2009, The school was authorized as the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) School. We were designated as one of Super Global High Schools (SGH) by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in 2014-2018. SGH Program aims to foster globalized leaders who will be able to play active roles on the international stage.

Ritsumeikan Uji will continue to nurture the next generation of global leaders, students who possess a penetrating intelligence combined with excellent language ability, exhibit mature interpersonal skills.
