Kyushu U Connect #4 Exploring sounds and music with science ーLet’s look for connectionsー
音と科學と音樂と―つながるかな？―

The fourth Kyushu U Connect event is here!
In collaboration with Fukuoka Jo Gakuin University, this time we explored the connections between music, sound, and science.

Guided by Kyushu University’s VISION 2030, which aims to drive social change through integrative knowledge, we approached this theme from multiple perspectives, including auditory psychology, computational neuroscience, and literature.

Do we all hear the same sounds? What can a 300-year-old sonata tell us about the health of our hearing? How do we understand “sound” in a silent novel, and what creates harmony in performance?

We hope this video offers new insights into the science behind what we hear and inspires you to reflect more on the auditory world around us!

第4回 Kyushu U Connect イベントを開催しました！
今回は福岡女學院大學とのコラボレーションにより、音と音樂と科學のつながりを探りました。

九州大學のVISION 2030「總合知で社會變革を牽引する」の理念のもと、聽覺心理學、計算論的神經科學、文學といった多樣な視點から本テーマにアプローチしました。

私たちは皆、同じ音を聞いているのでしょうか？300年前のソナタは、「聽こえる」健康について何を教えてくれるのでしょうか？「音のない」小説の中の音とは何か、そしてハーモニーを作るため、奏者は何を考えているのでしょうか？

「聞く」ということの背後にある科學について新たな視點を得ていただくとともに、身の回りの音の世界について改めて考えるきっかけとなれば幸いです。
