『良き公民として』 (ヨキコウミントシテ、1933年)

近代國家の國民としての必要な政治的・經濟的・社會的知識を習得を目的とする「公民教育」に關する教化映畫で、1931年に中學校の課程に「公民科」が學科目として新設された（『學制百二十年史』）ことが製作の契機になったと考えられる。「協同・協和」の精神を全體の基調として、俳優を使った演出場面やミニチュア撮影場面に加えて既存作品の映像も使いながら構成されている。後半では特に選擧權の行使を公民としての責任・義務であるとして、思想、經濟、國際關係の國難に直面する日本の状況を打開し國運の進展を圖るためには、一票の重さの「自覺」と「協和の力」によるほかはないことを主張して全篇を閉じる。振進キネマ社は1929年に『覺めよ國民』（ST000178）の制作を文部省から請け負っており、同社の創設者で同作の監督でもあった井上麗吉が本作でも主導的な役割を擔ったと考えられる。なお參考文獻（「文部省映畫施設槪況／二、「良き公民として」（全三卷）」）では1934年の2月から5月にかけて全國の33府縣で巡回上映が行われ、26萬人近くの人々が本作を鑑賞したことが報告されている。

The eighth edition of this site presents 25 additional titles covering the years from 1923 to 1943. The selection includes a variety of works that convey different aspects of the prewar period. There are films that document domestic and international travel introducing scenery, industry, and lifestyles, or special events such as national sporting tournaments and various commemorative ceremonies, on the other hand educational and propaganda films that focus on air defense ideas and military power.
