肉眼で見は見ることのできない生物・非生物の微小な世界を顯微鏡撮影で收めた教材映畫。バクテリア、菌類やカビから、鹽などの結晶、さらに花粉や人體の毛根、水中の樣々な微生物や原生動物、そして金魚のヒレの中の血流までを見せてゆく。元素材はサイレントだがほぼ同時期に製作されたトーキー版の方が尺長が長いだけでなく檢閲記録の申請時期も早く、參考文獻（『日本文化映畫年鑑 昭和15年版』二〇四頁）の内容説明から、トーキー版には害蟲や寄生蟲の場面もあったことが確認できる。また、元素材では無音のサウンドトラック（黒味）のために畫面の横幅が狹くなっており、メインタイトルでは「緻」の絲偏の一部が缺けている。

「フィルムは記録する ―國立映畫アーカイブ歴史映像ポータル―」では、1923年から1943年までの間に撮影・製作された25作品を公開するとともに檢索機能を中心にサイトをリニューアルしました。國内外の風物・産業・暮らしを紹介する旅の映畫、全國的なスポーツ大會や各種の記念式典の記録などのほか、防空思想や軍事力をテーマとした教化・宣傳映畫など、戰前期の多樣な側面を傳える歴史映像をリニューアルしたサイトでお樂しみください。

The eighth edition of this site presents 25 additional titles covering the years from 1923 to 1943. The selection includes a variety of works that convey different aspects of the prewar period. There are films that document domestic and international travel introducing scenery, industry, and lifestyles, or special events such as national sporting tournaments and various commemorative ceremonies, on the other hand educational and propaganda films that focus on air defense ideas and military power.
