Heel Hooks Now Allowed!!

Heel hooks, which had previously been prohibited in QUINTET competition, will be fully allowed starting from “QUINTET.5” in Dubai.This decision reflects the global evolution of grappling and the continued rise in athletes’ technical skill levels.
The heel hook is a submission capable of instantly damaging an opponent’s knee ligaments if applied forcefully, which is why it had long been banned in many tournaments.However, in recent years, as the sport’s popularity has grown and athletes have developed increasingly advanced techniques, leg locks—especially heel hooks—have become one of the most thrilling and essential aspects of modern grappling.
Recognizing these international trends, as well as the growing technical maturity of athletes and the deeper understanding of fans, QUINTET has decided that the time is right to officially lift the ban on heel hooks.This marks an exciting new chapter in QUINTET’s ongoing commitment to the evolution of grappling.

遂にヒールフック解禁！

これまでQUINTETでは禁止技とされていたヒールフックですが、國際的なグラップリング競技の發展と技術水準の向上を受け、「QUINTET.5」ドバイ大會より全面解禁することを決定いたしました。

ヒールフックは、極められた選手の膝靱帶を瞬時に損傷させる危險性を持つ技であり、長らく多くの大會で使用が禁止されてきた歴史があります。しかし近年、世界的な競技人口の増加と選手の高度な技術の集積により、足關節技――とりわけヒールフックの攻防は、いまやグラップリングにおける主要な見どころの一つへと進化しています。

こうした國際的な潮流に加え、選手たちの技術的成熟と觀客の理解度の高まりを踏まえ、QUINTETとしてもヒールフックを正式に解禁する段階に達したと判斷し、今回の決定に至りました。
