★ホンダ S800Mクーペ に關して
ホンダS800Mクーペは、ホンダが二輪の技術を四輪へと高めるべく、S500から始まるSシリーズの集大成として1968年に登場した、技術と美意識が融合した名車である。

安全基準の強化と走行性能の向上を兩立し、輸出專用のクーペとして世界市場で高く評價された。

北米の安全基準に對應するため、20項目以上の安全對策を施し、國内ではオープンのみが販賣され、クーペは輸出專用モデルとして歐州や英國市場を中心に展開された。

搭載されるエンジンは、DOHC直列4氣筒791cc。最大出力は70ps/8000rpm、最大トルクは6.7kgm/6000rpmを誇り、トップスピードは160km/h、小排氣量ながら、當時の1.6Lクラスに匹敵する性能を持っていた。

足回りはフロントがダブルウィッシュボーン式、リアはリジッドアクスル式。　初期型のチェーンドライブからシャフトドライブへと變更され、騷音低減と信頼性向上を實現。

安全裝備としては、大型リフレクターやアンチバースト機構付きドアなどが採用され、快適性も向上。助手席にはスライド機構も追加され、ラジオやヒーターも標準裝備された。

★About the Honda S800M Coupe
Introduced in 1968 as the culmination of Honda's S series, which began with the S500 and aimed to extend its motorcycle technology to cars, the Honda S800M Coupe is a renowned vehicle that combines technology and aesthetics.

Combining stricter safety standards with improved driving performance, this export-only coupe was highly praised in the global market.

More than 20 safety measures were implemented to comply with North American safety regulations. Only the convertible version was sold in Japan, while the coupe was sold as an export-only model, primarily in European and UK markets.

The engine is a 791cc DOHC inline 4-cylinder. It boasts maximum power of 70hp at 8000 rpm, maximum torque of 6.7kgm at 6000 rpm, and a top speed of 160 km/h. Despite its small displacement, it offered performance comparable to 1.6L vehicles of the time.

The suspension is a double wishbone front suspension and a rigid axle rear suspension. The chain drive of the early model was changed to a shaft drive, reducing noise and improving reliability.

Safety features included large reflectors and doors with anti-burst mechanisms, improving comfort. A sliding mechanism was added to the passenger seat, and a radio and heater were also standard equipment.
