★MCC スマートクーペ AMGに關して
ダイムラー・クライスラー社の100％出資子會社であるマイクロ・コンパクト・カー・スマート社（MCC SMART）が、「最小限のボディサイズで最大限の安全性、快適性、環境適合性」を實現することをコンセプトに開發したコンパクトカーがスマート。

全長約2.5m、全幅1.5mのボディサイズながら、乘車定員の2名が快適に過ごせる居住性を確保するシティ・コミューターでありボディは2ドアクーペのスマート クーペとオープントップのスマート カブリオの2タイプがあった。

フロント/マクファーソンストラット、リヤ/ド・ディオン式のサスペンションを介して、ドライブトレーンはRR方式。

フロアに配置されるトランスミッションは、トルクコンバーターを持たない、オートクラッチ式の6速マニュアルモード付きAT（SOFTOUCH）。

本革卷きステアリング&シフトノブ、エアコン、パワーウィンド、キーレスエントリーを標準裝備。
また安全裝備として、デュアルエアバッグ、エレクトロニック・トラクション&スタビリティ・コントロール、ABS、フォースリミッター&テンショナー付きシートベルトを標準で裝着。

搭載される直列3氣筒SOHCインタークーラー付きターボエンジンは、598ccの排氣量から、最高出力55ps/5250rpm、最大トルク8.2kg・m(80N・m)/2000～4500rpm（オーバーブースト時：9.0kgm/2500-4000rpm）を發揮した。

AMGによってチューニングされたエンジンは、80psにパワーアップされ、最高速160km/hを發揮した。

★About the MCC Smart Coupe AMG
The Smart is a compact car developed by Micro Compact Car Smart (MCC SMART), a wholly owned subsidiary of DaimlerChrysler, with the concept of "maximum safety, comfort, and environmental compatibility in a minimal body size."

Despite its body size of about 2.5m in length and 1.5m in width, it is a city commuter that can accommodate two passengers comfortably, and comes in two body types: the two-door Smart Coupe and the open-top Smart Cabrio.

The drivetrain is a rear-wheel drive system with MacPherson struts in the front and De Dion suspension in the rear.

The transmission, located on the floor, is a 6-speed automatic transmission (SOFTOUCH) with manual mode and an auto-clutch system that does not have a torque converter.

It comes standard with a genuine leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, air conditioning, power windows, and keyless entry.
Safety features include dual airbags, electronic traction and stability control, ABS, and seatbelts with force limiters and tensioners as standard.

The in-line three-cylinder SOHC intercooled turbo engine had a displacement of 598cc and produced a maximum output of 55ps/5250rpm and a maximum torque of 8.2kg・m (80N・m)/2000-4500rpm (overboost: 9.0kgm/2500-4000rpm).

Tuned by AMG, the engine was boosted to 80ps, giving it a top speed of 160km/h.
