兵庫縣南あわじ市に500年前から傳わっている淡路人形淨瑠璃を繼承しており、260年以上の歴史を誇る吉田傳次郎座の道具類を引き繼ぎ、受け繼がれてきた人形淨瑠璃を常設館で上演しています。
1976年に淡路人形淨瑠璃は國指定重要無形民俗文化財に指定されました。

We preserve and perform Awaji Ningyo Joruri, a traditional puppet theater that has been passed down in Minamiawaji City, Hyogo Prefecture, for over 500 years.
Our theater continues the legacy of the Yoshida Denjiro Troupe, inheriting its stage tools and traditions from more than 260 years of history.
Since 1976, Awaji Ningyo Joruri has been officially recognized as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan.
