花の都としての京都を描き出した抒情的な小品で、櫻に彩られた平安神宮神苑や清水寺、祇園の夜櫻、それに花見の賑わいの光景などを綴ってゆく。本來は横濱シネマ商會が製作し岡本洋行が販賣した教育映畫シリーズ「アテナ・ライブラリー」に含まれる35㎜作品だが、元素材は小西六本店（現・コニカミノルタ）の16mm教育映畫シリーズ「サクラグラフ」の一篇として販賣された短縮版である。

「フィルムは記録する ―國立映畫アーカイブ歴史映像ポータル―」では、1923年から1943年までの間に撮影・製作された25作品を公開するとともに檢索機能を中心にサイトをリニューアルしました。國内外の風物・産業・暮らしを紹介する旅の映畫、全國的なスポーツ大會や各種の記念式典の記録などのほか、防空思想や軍事力をテーマとした教化・宣傳映畫など、戰前期の多樣な側面を傳える歴史映像をリニューアルしたサイトでお樂しみください。

The eighth edition of this site presents 25 additional titles covering the years from 1923 to 1943. The selection includes a variety of works that convey different aspects of the prewar period. There are films that document domestic and international travel introducing scenery, industry, and lifestyles, or special events such as national sporting tournaments and various commemorative ceremonies, on the other hand educational and propaganda films that focus on air defense ideas and military power.
