「山と人をつなぐ仕事──原皮師が語る、檜皮採取の世界」
千年以上にわたり、日本の傳統建築を支えてきた「檜皮葺（ひわだぶき）」。その屋根材となる檜皮（ひわだ）を、木を傷めず丁寧に採取する專門職を「原皮師（もとかわし）」と呼びます。
この講演會では、數少ない現役の原皮師をお招きし、檜皮採取の技術や、山との向き合い方、自然とともに働く知惠についてお話しいただきます。
檜皮は、採取後も木が生き續けるように注意深く扱われ、自然への配慮が求められる素材です。原皮師の仕事を通して見えてくる、森と共に生きるための知惠や、技を受け繼ぐことの大切さを、ぜひこの機會に感じてみてください。

▶Lecture Information
“Bridging Mountains and people: The Hidden World of Japanese Bark Roofers”
Hiwadabuki, or traditional cypress bark roofing, has supported Japanese architecture for more than a thousand years.
The craftsmen who carefully harvest the bark without damaging the trees are known as motokawashi.
In this lecture, one of the few remaining active motokawashi will share his techniques for harvesting cypress bark, his relationship with the mountains, and the wisdom he has gained from working in harmony with nature.
Cypress bark is a material that requires delicate handling and deep respect for the tree, so that it may continue to live after the bark is removed.
We invite you to take this opportunity to learn about the traditional wisdom of living with the forest and the importance of passing down these rare skills from generation to generation.
